beef About Us Dakota Natural beef is a family owned and is operated by 4th and 5th generation South Dakota cattle producers. Dakota Natural was the first registered "natural" beef program registered with the state of South Dakota. Dakota Natural was started as the result of a beef quality audit done by the National Cattlemen's Beef Ass. that showed one in four eating experiences of beef by the consumer was considered unsatisfactory. Also, the knowledge that the consumer was seeking a healthy product that was consistently tender. The production practices used to produce Dakota Natural Beef are the result. Dakota Natural beef is consistently lean and guaranteed tender, always! Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients Dakota Natural Beef is produced exclusively from the Limousin breed of cattle. Limousin are originally from France and were known as the beef of Kings. The breed is inherently lean and has a smaller muscle fiber diameter giving the beef a uniquely fine texture. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) Dakota Natural beef is produced under specified guidelines controlling genetics, production, processing and aging. Dakota Natural beef is produced in a family operation without the use of antibiotics or added growth hormones. All animals are humanely cared for. In the case of sickness or injury they are treated as needed but not marketed through Dakota Natural. Cattle are raised on South Dakota natural grasses and home raised grains. We make as much use of natural fertilizers as possible in the production of grass, hay and grains. Additional Information All Dakota Natural beef is poroduced without the use of antibiotics or added growth hormones. However, we do produce some processed products (beef bacon, bologna, frankfurters etc.) that utilize nitrates or flavor enhancers in the seasonings. No gluten, poultry, pork, or cereal fillers are used in any Dakota Natural products. Our all beef Bruner Brats are FREE of all additives and preservatives but are made with a pork casing. As an alternative we make a brat patty with all the flavor but no casing. |
